Re: Marrying Someone With a Promiscuous Past

A month is not a lot of time to get to someone before they marry them. Not in today's time. My grandparents only dated a few weeks until they were engaged, but that was a case where the families knew each other and they communicated in person. Maybe an occasional phone call, but there was no textin...

Re: How much of a history buff are you?

World history, local history, church history, your family history, and everything in between... how much of a history buff are you? Vote and discuss! I enjoy local history, especially when you can see things in person. Family history is a fascination as well. World history is touch and go for me.

Re: High Demand Religions?

I always question the motives of those who use those catch-phrases. Are they trying to create an adverse public opinion of a person or group? In this case, are they seeking to denigrate the Amish and other groups who expect personal responsibility and discipline from their membership? Another term ...

Re: Marrying Someone With a Promiscuous Past

In my experience, men might be visually aroused and attracted to women from far. Men are very visual. But women not as much. They tend to need to get to know a person first before deciding if they are attracted to him. At least that is my experience over the years of marriage and raising 3 daughter...

High Demand Religions?

Never heard this term until yesterday. This one is new to me. It was a podcast and they were taking an obvious jab at their former Amish upbringing.

Re: Progressive/Conservative threshold?

Curious - does the scripture say anything about men wearing shorts ? Seems to me the dress mode for peasant men in NT times was a tunic which was white and knee-length and to work or run he tucked it up into the girdle round his waist – an action known as 'girding up the loins'. I think if we are g...

Re: Progressive/Conservative threshold?

We don't have *real* TV, but we can livestream and we watch DVD's within reason. In some ways we are conservative but not in everything. You are watching DVD's? I honestly haven't watched a DVD in a long time. I had a Norfolk Southern DVD on their history and watched that. But that's been some time...
