Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

Kensington is indeed pretty horrible, although there are some (liberal) Mennonite groups trying to engage in church planting and other social services efforts there, like an Everence branch, in partnership with the community clinic there that opened as a sort of "public space" (except pri...

Re: Occupations that are uniquely objectionable to Conservative Anabaptists

I'm no graffiti artist, but couldn't graffiti be done with a paintbrush almost as easily? A side hustle I have is doing camo paint jobs on various objects and rattle cans are essential for that. Even an air brush would be inefficient. In fact Rustoleum has a line of flat colors specifically for cam...

Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

We have a variety of folks here that like to think through things and I hope this subject can be discussed in a mature manner and not get political more than it has to be. I was recently made aware of most likely the biggest drug problem we have in American in Kensington Philidelphia, which is close...

I'd be happy if they just banned spray paint nationwide. I'm no graffiti artist, but couldn't graffiti be done with a paintbrush almost as easily? Re: Occupations that are uniquely objectionable to Conservative Anabaptists

I'd be happy if they just banned spray paint nationwide. The convenience it provides doesn't outweigh the enormous cost of cleaning up graffiti across the country. There are other ways to apply paint including spray guns that work much better anyway. That would take half the fun away from watching ...

Re: Occupations that are uniquely objectionable to Conservative Anabaptists

I wouldn’t sell spray cans of paint in an area with major graffiti problems. I BUY spray paint in an area with a major graffiti problem. Flat black to coat the insides of my students telescopes. Supposed to ask for ID, over 21. For some odd reason, I can't recall ever being asked. Around here it is...

Re: Occupations that are uniquely objectionable to Conservative Anabaptists

How? What do church politics have to do with it? Who has access to what on the internet. Trying to filter and moderate this would be like trying to herd cats. For myself if I were running something like that I could probably salve my conscience sufficiently by implementing a commercially available ...
