Re: Progressive/Conservative threshold?
In regards to your own personal standards and applications, what is liberal/progressive in your opinion? What is conservative in your opinion? My wife wears a headcovering. I don't wear shorts outside the house, maybe if I started doing 5K's again. We don't have *real* TV, but we can livestream and...

Re: "Traditional Pennsylvania Dutch" Foods?
I’m disappointed the Wikipedia editor didn’t enumerate which subcultures consider Doritos a suitable base. One of the concessions sold at local sports games are "Walking Tacos," which is chili and cheese in a bag of Doritos. This is a variation of "Frito Pie," which emerged in T...

Re: Throwback Thursday.... CB radios!
I've had a GMRS license in the past. Never held a "business radio" license. Cell phones have long done away with that. I've been a licensed ham radio operator for two decades now. And yes, certain radios are "type accepted" as to what bands you can operate on. I've had ham radios...

Re: Marrying Someone With a Promiscuous Past
I will continue to resist any attempts to derail this into making it gendered. Apparently I have no idea what this thread is about :o I know of a few situations where a young lady from a conservative setting got pregnant, had the baby, but went on to marry and live a good Christian life. They owned...

Re: Marrying Someone With a Promiscuous Past
I like a simple approach such as seek the Lord's guidance as that is what He sent us the Holy Spirit for. I believe I would have avoided much suffering regarding marriages if I had just trusted that the Spirit is given us to lead us in the way that we should go and sought His guidance. So when the ...

No salad dressing for me. Medium taco sauce or thick salsa.

Re: Throwback Thursday.... CB radios!
I'm told that its the doomsday preppers keeping CB alive these days. Which I believe. In that case I would strongly recommend the Christian stay away from the CB radio... Yeah, I agree. It's hard for me to watch their YouTube channels. You'll be wearing a tinfoil hat before you know what happened 8-)

Layer salad. That is also at most every potluck and family picnic.

Re: Throwback Thursday.... CB radios!
I miss having a CB, enjoyed them during my trucking days. Not legal in my church now. I do remember when I got out of the boonies things could get vulgar, but mostly I ran where there were few OTR drivers. Oddly enough, having a CB radio in my church would be very much frowned upon... but it would ...

Re: Throwback Thursday.... CB radios!
Back when Radio Shack was around, they printed a book called Police call that had all the radio frequencies in a tri-state area, plus the various ten-codes used in various public services. I have always owned a scanner and was forever listening to stuff. My first vehicle had both a CB radio and a sc...
