Re: A year of living.

On the Road and Finding Out .6 It's about a week away from 5 months after Wayne's passing. To put this in perspective, it was just over 5 months that we had together from his initial diagnosis to his death. What a short, strange trip that all was! Life literally on fast forward. I know he's not comi...

Re: A year of living.

hi Steve, I just attended a virtual GriefShare seminar this week about "Surviving the Holidays" and there was a lovely expression mentioned that is so fitting: having a "grief-burst." And yes, I fully agree that crying is essential to working through this and moving forward. It's...

Re: A year of living.

On the Road to Find Out.5 Christmastime. Tomorrow is the third Sunday of Advent. Tomorrow is also the 3 month anniversary of Wayne's death. I was telling a dear friend that the days aren't so much black anymore as fading into gray, but it seems that Wayne is also fading with that, and I hate it. Som...

Re: A year of living.

On the Road to Find Out. 4 - A Day's Connections A good friend called the other day to check in and asked me what I was experiencing. I miss Wayne terribly. I can cry at the drop of a hat - a song, a memory of a place, something I find of Wayne's while unpacking boxes. Then my friend asked if I foun...

Re: A year of living.

Hi Temporal 1, What you write is all so true. And I love your ending byline that we're all just walking each other home. I think I understand a little more how older folks can get tired of living and loosen their grip on this life. Thank you for your thoughts about Wayne. I am daily thankful, humble...

Re: A year of living.

(Wish I Wasn't) On the Road to Find Out. 3 - This is a milestone couple of days, between my birthday today and Thanksgiving tomorrow. It's been a quiet, at-home day today, more sad than glad, and I'm soon to visit at Frannie's for supper. Talking with my counsellor yesterday, she assured me that it ...

Re: A year of living.

On the Road to Find Out #2 - During our phoned-in church service, we are given Scripture readings to read aloud. Last Sunday, I was given Psalm 16. Verses 5-6 read: "Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant ...

Re: A year of living.

Facebook posting from November 12: Today is the 2 month anniversary date of my beloved Wayne's passing. What a lifetime we were given together! Thank you, God. Scripture tells us that God will heal the broken-hearted and that those who mourn will be comforted - and that they are blessed. This I know...

Re: A year of living.

Thank you for this information on the booklets. My oldest had a miscarriage at 18 weeks and I want to give her the booklets. Been a difficult journey for them but they are clinging to the Lord and have many around who have walked this path. Thank you again and praying for you Betty Thank you, Quiet...
