Re: War in Gaza

And yet, even when most nations cry out against this kind of evil ... sometimes we are the ones who cannot. Where is our outrage and compassion for these victims? Where is our voice? Our outrage? Why should we have outrage over any of this? Compassion yes. In practical application, there isn’t any ...

Re: The Anabaptist perception towards U.S. Holidays!

If a holiday is 'a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done', then some on this list are not holidays. That is my perception. :) Romans 14:4-5 - Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. On...

Re: Baptismal Formula

What is amazing to me is how scriptures are used (more specifically the one I pointed to in John 19:30) when determining a 'mode'. It doesn't surprise me that scriptures are used but rather which scriptures are used and how . I can say the same about the scriptures used to support Calvinism and non...

Re: Bunny Trails

I think that was the one I drove across, years ago. But it wasn't as scary as the Jacksonville, FL, bridge, which has quite a rise in elevation, and the first time, it was very windy. You'd better believe I did some praying! Here are some I would avoid - https://www.google.com/search?q=scar...

Re: Baptismal Formula

It is truly amazing to me how scriptures are used to support all these varying practices for water baptism. Sudsy, why does this surprise you? Wouldn't it make sense that, IF there is indeed a right "mode" of water baptism, that it would be found/justified in the Scriptures, of all places...

Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse

This event is another example of how quickly life can come to an end for some and it could have been much worse at another time of day. We have a new bridge being built 30 miles from my home over the river between Windsor and Detroit. It is quite amazing to watch on the steady flow of Internet vide...

 Yes, I'm old, rich and cranky. Others are younger, poor and cranky. I guess we have the cranky in common.

Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse

Why do you even bother sticking around? It feels like you're always complaining about people posting about the wrong things in the wrong threads - maybe you can start a forum where you can be moderator and organize all the posts to your liking? :laugh You certainly don't hold back from challenging ...

Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse

This is one of many current events discussed here that I don't find anything unique about how Anabaptists observe the events going on in this world any different than others. I'm not sure this is what was intended for this sub forum. My guess is that this was not originally intended for just discus...
