Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

So are you suggesting that a Christian who protects themself and perhaps their family and does not intend to kill an attacker but it happens is going to hell ? I'm not in charge of consigning anyone to hell, and that simply isn't a question I ask myself. I cannot imagine what it would be like to tr...

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

Regarding who is my neighbour, I understand Jesus to say they are those who are in our vicinity of life that we run across often. Those I believe we should turn the other cheek when they persecute us. But at the point of them killing me, which I have not experienced just only by their words, I susp...

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

How ridiculous is it that Christians on two sides can come together and exchange presents on Christmas… and then go right back to shooting each other. That Christians from the same family can shoot each other in a Civil War… The answer is obvious. And the obvious answer is ? Christians most certain...

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

Jesus did speak about how the Pharisees used their tradition to make the word of God of no effect by creating workarounds and excuses to avoid doing what God had told them to do. Yes the Pharisees developed their religion much like many of us still do today by cherry picking certain religious ways ...

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

I would regard that quote by Peter Reidemann also to be taken out of context. This 1 Cor 5:9-13 text, imo. is talking about about judging evildoers within the local church not evildoers in the world. So, for examples, if you believe a Christian participated in wars and killed someone, if they did n...

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

Do you think there is anything that will send anyone to hell? I do. The sin of rejecting Him and refusing His offer of forgiveness and new life in Jesus Christ. This is the unforgivable sin, because it means we are saying that the Holy Spirit's witness about Jesus is a lie. Do you agree or do you h...

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

If I understand you correctly, your and my understanding of who is our neighbour is quite different. Those who killed for what they deemed to be a greater cause in war was not killing their neighbour, imo. Those verses you used I would not apply them to all people in wars as many have no real hatre...

Re: Preach it Bro !

This reply ' You are not authorized to read this forum.' doesn't make any sense to me as I can read any forum just by not logging on. I still can't find where my original thread post went but that is OK now that we have it here under the Spoken Word sub forum. I get more easily confused in my old a...

Re: Preach it Bro !

I have tried to find out what happened to this thread but am not getting replies so I will try again as although this is not an Anabaptist preacher, I believe his message is what many Anabaptists would say 'amen' to even if it is under their breath. I had received one 'like' before it disappeared. ...
