Re: Videos of Amish Children Playing Church

We do not have family photos on the wall, wedding photos, Snapchat, Instagram, selfies, etc. We have photos but not on the wall or in the china cabinet. I keep mine on t...

Re: Cultural Variations in the USA

Having lived in northeast Ohio off and on for 29 years, I have always seen people stopping for funeral processions. Is this a Holmes County thing? I don't know, but the Amish buggies didn't stop, either. (One did.) It was also the custom for all of the vehicles in the procession to turn their light...

Re: Videos of Amish Children Playing Church

Josh, no one in your church has a driver's license? We have passport photos and other government mandated photos provided the purpose of having such a photo is not pride / idolatry. We do not have family photos on the wall, wedding photos, Snapchat, Instagram, selfies, etc. We have photos but not o...

Re: Bishop Oversight

It is interesting how obsessive many conservative Mennonites are about the need for bishop oversight when establishing a new congregation. What is the reason for this? Is this rooted in a biblical basis? Is it really necessary in order to properly found a Christian congregation, or for a congregati...
